12 Things Every Business Website in Ghana Needs
A checklist for Ghanaian business websites that bring enquiries, not just compliments. From the headline and proof to speed, WhatsApp, tracking and Google.
A website that looks nice but brings no enquiries is an expensive brochure. Use this checklist to make sure yours earns its keep.
1. A clear headline
Within five seconds, visitors should know what you do, who it's for and where. "Solar installation for homes and businesses in Kumasi" beats "Powering a brighter tomorrow".
2. An obvious next step
A WhatsApp button, call button, booking link or "buy" button, visible without scrolling, and repeated on every page. On mobile, a sticky button at the bottom works well.
3. Pages for each service or product category
One page per main service, with details, prices or price ranges, photos and proof. They convert better and help you rank on Google.
4. Proof
Reviews, client logos, case studies, photos of real work, number of projects completed. Put proof near the top and throughout.
5. Prices or price guidance
Even "from GH₵ 1,500" or "most projects cost between GH₵ X and GH₵ Y" filters out time-wasters and builds trust.
6. Real photos
Your team, your premises, your work. Stock photos of smiling people in offices don't convince anyone. If you need product photos, see AI product photography.
7. Contact details everywhere
Phone number, WhatsApp, email, address and hours, in the footer of every page and on a contact page with a map. Make sure they match your Google Business Profile exactly.
8. Fast on mobile data
Most visitors are on phones, many on mobile data. Compress images, avoid heavy sliders and test on a cheap phone. See why website speed matters.
9. An about page
Who you are, how long you've operated, who leads the business, and why customers should trust you. People in Ghana want to know there are real people behind a business.
10. Basic SEO
Unique page titles and descriptions, headings that describe each section, image descriptions, structured data and a sitemap. Set up Google Search Console. See SEO for small businesses.
11. Tracking
Google Analytics, and the Meta Pixel if you advertise. Track enquiries: WhatsApp clicks, calls, forms and purchases. See setting up the Meta Pixel.
12. Legal basics
A privacy policy, especially if you collect personal information through forms, and terms for online sales. Follow Ghana's Data Protection Act.

Common questions
How many pages does a small business website need?
Often five to ten: home, a page per main service, about, contact and perhaps a blog or case studies.
Should my website take payments?
If you sell products or bookable services, yes. A checkout that takes MoMo and card turns your website into a salesperson. See online shops.
If you'd like a website built to this standard, see our website design service.
