AI Video Ads: How Ghanaian Brands Are Cutting the Cost of Creative

You no longer need an influencer, a photographer and a videographer for every campaign. How AI video ads work, why Meta's ad system rewards them, and how to make ones that sell.

Think about what a single video advert used to cost a Ghanaian business.

You'd pay an influencer, or a model. Book a photographer and a videographer. Find a location, and maybe pay for it. Wait a week or two for the edit. Then put your whole budget behind one or two videos and hope they worked.

Or you'd try to become a content creator yourself, filming on your phone between customers, posting when you had time, which was never.

That's changed. AI has cut the cost of production dramatically. And it's arrived at exactly the moment Meta's ad system started demanding far more creative than any shoot could give you.

Why you need more adverts than before

Meta's ad system, Andromeda, decides who sees your advert largely by studying the advert itself: the people in it, the setting, the words, the format. Your creative is now your targeting. See Meta's Andromeda update.

Give it one video and it has one way to find buyers. Give it ten genuinely different stories and it has ten. And because Andromeda learns from results, testing many creatives is how you feed it enough data to give you good results.

One shoot gives you one or two ideas to test. That's no longer enough.

What AI video ads are

AI video ads are adverts where some or all of the production is done with AI tools instead of cameras and crews. That can mean:

  • Product films built from photos and short phone clips of your real product.
  • Testimonial-style videos with AI presenters, scripted from real customer feedback.
  • Explainers with voiceover, captions and motion graphics.
  • Lifestyle scenes placing your product in realistic Ghanaian settings.
  • Hook variations: the same advert with ten different opening lines.

The best ones mix AI with real material: your actual product, real reviews, real delivery footage.

How we make them

1. Research before script

The advert is only as good as the idea. We start with your product, your reviews and the questions buyers ask in your DMs. What do they doubt? What do they love? What words do they use?

2. Scripts with hooks

Every advert opens with a line designed to stop the scroll in the first two or three seconds. "Still buying bags that peel after one month?" Then the proof, the offer and one clear action.

3. Production with AI

Visuals, voiceover in a voice and accent that fits your market, captions and music. No studio, crew or model fees, and days instead of weeks.

4. Many versions

Different hooks, different presenters, different settings, different formats. Each is a genuinely different way in.

5. Test, then make more of the winners

We run them, read the results, switch off what doesn't sell and build new versions of what does.

AI isn't always the right answer. A big brand film or a celebrity partnership still needs a real shoot. But for the weekly work of finding adverts that sell, AI is now the faster and cheaper route. See AI ads vs a real shoot.

Doing it honestly

AI makes it easy to cut corners. Don't.

  • Show the real product. What buyers see must be what they get.
  • Never fake reviews. Testimonial-style adverts should be based on real customer feedback, and shouldn't pretend a real customer said something they didn't.
  • Follow platform rules. Meta and TikTok have policies on AI-generated content and may label it. Disclose where required.
  • Avoid misleading results. Especially for health, beauty and finance.

Trust is everything in Ghana. AI should make your honest message cheaper to produce, not make a dishonest one look real.

What makes an AI advert sell

The same things that make any advert sell:

  • A hook that names the buyer's problem or desire.
  • The product shown clearly, ideally in use.
  • Proof: reviews, numbers, demonstrations.
  • A clear offer, with price or price range.
  • One action: shop now, message us, pay on delivery.

AI just lets you test far more versions of those ingredients.

Common questions

Do AI video ads work in Ghana?

Yes. We've made them for many businesses. Buyers respond to a clear, relevant message, whether it was filmed or generated. What fails is generic AI content with no real idea behind it.

Will people know it's AI?

Some will. If the advert is honest and useful, that rarely matters.

Can you make AI adverts in local languages?

AI voice tools are improving for Ghanaian accents and languages. We test voices and choose what sounds natural for your audience, and use real voices where AI doesn't sound right.

How many adverts do I need?

Enough for Meta to learn from, which usually means several distinct concepts at any time, refreshed every week or two.
