How to Build an Offer People Can't Ignore

Sometimes the advert is fine and the offer is the problem. How to build an offer that makes Ghanaian buyers act now, with value, bonuses, guarantees and honest urgency.

Two businesses sell the same product at the same price. One sells out; the other struggles. Often the difference isn't the product or the adverts. It's the offer.

An offer is everything the buyer gets and everything that makes buying feel safe and urgent: the product, price, bonuses, guarantee, delivery, payment terms and timing.

The parts of a strong offer

1. A clear, desirable core

What exactly are they getting, and what will it do for them? Be specific. "A 3-month skincare routine for oily skin" beats "skincare products".

2. A fair price, framed well

Show the value. If there's a genuine regular price, show it. Break it down: "Less than GH₵ 5 a day."

3. Bonuses that add real value

Extras that make the main purchase better: a cleaning kit with sneakers, a styling guide with a dress, a free consultation with a course. They should be useful, not filler.

4. A guarantee that removes risk

The single biggest barrier for Ghanaian buyers is fear of losing money. A clear guarantee answers it: "If it doesn't fit, we exchange it free." "If you're not happy after 30 days, full refund." See Ghanaian buyer psychology.

5. Easy payment and delivery

MoMo, card, pay on delivery, fast delivery. Removing friction is part of the offer.

6. A real reason to act now

Limited stock, a deadline, a seasonal event, an early-bird price. Only use urgency that's true. Fake countdowns destroy trust.

Example: before and after

Before:

Leather tote, GH₵ 400. DM to order.

After:

Handmade full-grain leather tote, GH₵ 400
Free matching card holder (worth GH₵ 80) this week
One-year guarantee: if it peels or breaks, we fix or replace it
Same-day delivery in Accra, pay with MoMo or on delivery
12 left in black before the next batch

Same bag, same price. A much stronger offer.

Offers for services

  • A free audit or consultation.
  • A fixed price, so there are no surprises.
  • A results guarantee where you can genuinely offer one, or a satisfaction guarantee.
  • Bonus deliverables.
  • A limited number of new clients each month, if true.

Test your offers

Run the same advert with different offers and compare cost per sale. Small changes, like free delivery vs a bonus item, can change results a lot.

Common mistakes

  • Discounting instead of adding value.
  • Bonuses nobody wants.
  • Vague guarantees: "satisfaction guaranteed".
  • Fake urgency.
  • Too many options, which causes indecision.

Common questions

Will bonuses cut my profit?

Choose bonuses with high perceived value and low cost to you. They often protect margin better than discounts.

How often should I change my offer?

Keep a strong core offer, and rotate seasonal bonuses and deadlines.
